One test is to put a ring of stamps around your penis when you go to bed. If you get hard during the night, the ring will be broken. That would at least prove that you get normal nocturnal erections.
Well erectile dysfunction is a physiological condition, so you can’t have a psychological physiological condition. Also impotence and erectile dysfunction is not the same thing. Impotence is when a man cannot get erect at all and in any situation (and it’s perminant usually).
Performance anxiety is psychological erectile problems.
If you can get erect at any other time (masturbation, random erections through the day etc) then you are looking at more psychological issues.
Erectile dysfunction is troubles getting or maintaining an erection in any situation for over 3 months. Which is a physiological condition.
A doctor could run tests and if no physiological cause is found then it’s probably psychological. But that method is highly expensive and most likely a doctor won’t do that unless they think it’s physiological. If you are a younger guy who’s healthy almost certinaly it’s psychological.
